Terms and Conditions

All-Access Subscription, Paid Monthly

  1. All of our All-Access Subscriptions, paying monthly or yearly, are 1-year agreements. Subscriptions may not be canceled until the 1-year period is up. If the monthly payment option is chosen, your credit card will be charged the monthly fee, each month.

  2. If a subscriber cancels their All-Access Subscription, being paid monthly, before they have completed the 1-year requirement, access to your account will be suspended and your hours will not be submitted to any state CLE commissions. Please don’t give us a reason to create a class on how to remain ethical when agreeing to a contract. ;-)

  3. There is no guarantee that every course we offer, will be available in your state, as obtaining CLE approval has become expensive. Many states charge anywhere from $25 per course application to $160 per course application. Therefore, it is not feasible for COL to have every course approved in every state. You can get a good idea of what states we normally get approval from, by checking out what states our current offerings are approved in. We are approved/accredited providers in the following states, so all classes are usually approved in these states: CA, IN, NM and PA. Currently, we usually submit all courses to the following states: GA, TN and UT. UT does require 60 day application process, so sometimes we add a course to the schedule outside of that 60 day requirement and can’t get it approved in time.

  4. If you have questions about the All-Access Subscription, your state and our courses, please feel free to contact our office at info@comedianoflaw.com or 913-213-9823.

Webinar Purchases

When purchasing webinars, please make sure you note the date and time the webinar is scheduled. All times on the website are listed in Eastern time. If you miss your webinar time, please contact our office and we will be happy to exchange that webinar for another webinar on our schedule anytime in the next 12 months.

In-Person CLEs

COL reserves the right to cancel any in-person CLE if we have not received any signups 14 days before the event is scheduled. If an in-person event is no longer on our website, it is because we have canceled. We can’t wait until the last minute to cancel, as we need to be able to cancel our venue and receive a refund on the space rental. If we were to have to cancel an in-person CLE for any reason, we will contact everyone that has signed up, with the alternate information. It is has never happened in the 10 years we have been doing CLEs, but we can’t rule out that Joel could get sick right before a CLE. If you are unable to attend an in-person CLE that you registered for, please contact our office and we will be happy to reschedule you for another in-person CLE or exchange your in-person CLE for equivalent hours of CLE in another transmission mode (on-demand or webinar).

On-Demand Course Expiration Dates

All on-demand courses have been approved in particular states for a certain period of time. There is no guarantee that all on-demand courses will be renewed after that time period, so attorneys must be sure they are taking courses that are not expired. While we remove courses from state lists when they expire, it is possible for subscribers to have already added the course to their account before it expired and then don’t actually complete the course before it expires. To find out when a course expires, click on your state name and a list of courses approved in that state, will open. You can then access information about that course by clicking on “More Info” to the right of the listing. You can access the expiration dates by clicking on “Credit” to view all the precise information for that on-demand CLE. Please note that the states are NOT in alphabetical order because Freestone doesn’t have that ability in their software.

Refunds or Exchanges

COL does not offer refunds on purchases for several reasons. We do not offer refunds on in-person CLEs, as we make decisions on our rental space, based on the number of attorneys we have attending a CLE. If several attorneys cancel and request refunds, we can end of paying for a space that is much too large for the number of attorneys that attend. We also don’t offer refunds because we have to pay for every credit card transaction and that means that offering refunds, actually makes us lose money on that sale, which is the opposite of what we are trying to do. ;-) We do offer a 1 year exchange, which allows attorneys to attend a different in-person CLE or an exchange of equivalent hours in on-demand or webinar CLEs. If you have questions or want to request an exception, please contact our office at info@comedianoflaw.com or 913-213-9823.
